Scottsdale Golf

Scottsdale golf courses provide some of the best in both style and price with more than 25 public courses including many world class resort courses.  From completely desert layouts to more traditional courses, many price points can be found to meet the needs of any golfer.  An equal number of resorts offer accommodations that can pamper even the most discerning golf traveler.

Overseeding

Overseeding occurs at many Scottsdale golf courses during months of September and October. This is a process of cutting down the summer grass and re-seeding with a winter blend - often Rye grass. It usually takes 2-3 weeks and closes the courses during the process. During the first week or two after opening from overseeding, the grass tends to look really good but can be a little thinner and wetter than normal but with perfect Fall weather, the golf is still very enjoyable. Fall golf weather in Arizona is one of best anywhere. Greens are also a little slower for the first few weeks as well.

Temperatures usually rise into the 80s during the fall making golf very enjoyable but the days start to get shorter allowing less time to play. Arizona Resorts offer many golf package options directly from their respective sites.

Scottsdale's Best Courses

Scottsdale resorts also offer a great base of which to play the more than 50 other phoenix metro area courses. Many of these courses are within a 30 minute drive of most Scottsdale resorts.  The Boulders Resort in the far North part of Scottsdale has 36 spectacular holes of golf and is also just a few minutes from the picturesque Rancho Manana Golf Club located in Cave Creek.  Rancho Manana really represents the uniqueness of golf in the Scottsdale desert with lots of mountain and valley views and was recently named in the "Top 10" in the state by Ranking Arizona as well as being named in the "Top 50 in the country for Women" by Golf Digest.

Other Scottsdale courses with great golf include Grayhawk Golf Club that includes 36 holes of high end desert golf.

The famous Red Rocks of Sedona are a great backdrop for the Sedona Golf Resort located about 90 minutes North of Scottsdale.  Although open all year, spring through fall offer the best times to golf in Sedona.

Scottsdale golf is the perfect choice for a golf destination.
